Face of the Day with Estee Lauder Beach Metals Eyeshadow Trio

This was an impulse purchase, I was meant to go to Croydon get one thing and go straight back home. I seriously think I might have to invest in blinkers.

I was browsing the Estee Lauder counter and had asked her for the eyeshadow duo in Raisins. The Sales Assistant said Estee Lauder were no longer making the duos, but she still took the time to check if any had been returned for me. Then she recommended their new Pure Colour Instant Intense Eyeshadow Trio in Beach Metals as she said the colours were very similar. Not only was this lady very lovely but she knew her brand, that makes such a difference. So many times I have gone to the MAC counter, asked for something and then had to explain to them what it is!

The colours in this trio are beautiful, soft, pigmented, everything you want in an eyeshadow. Plus they are great colours for this time of year.

I didn't do anything special, I just used one brush and blended the lightest colour all over my lid and in my inner corner. The middle colour was blended just above my crease from the outer corner of my eye, right to the beginning of my eyebrow and I blended the darker, cranberry colour in the outer corner and right the way underneath my lower lash line.

I am so impressed with these eyeshadows, I really hope Estee Lauder keep these and don't discontinue them like the duos!

On the rest of my face

Foundation: Koh Gen Do Moisture Foundation -  I am currently trying this out but will be talking about it in more detail in an upcoming post, so watch out for that!

Concealer: Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage - Miracle worker!
Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer - I am back to this after my nice but overpriced DIOR Skinflash ran out. One of the best under eye concealers available, also one of the cheapest!

Powder: Rimmel Stay Matte - In serious need of a packaging overhaul but a very good powder for oilier skins.

Bronzer: Guerlain Terracotta Moisturising Bronzing Powder in "Makeup Artist 00" - I have used up my beloved Jouer bronzer. I do have a back up but I want to save it and this Guerlain bronzer used to be my favourite back in the day. I like that its a lighter colour, as my tan has most definitely faded now and Winter is coming!

Blusher: Kevyn Aucoin The Creamy Glow in "Pravella" - I love a good cream blush and this is such a pretty colour.

Highlight: Kevyn Aucoin The Celestial Powder Candelight - The best highlighter I have ever used, will be doing a separate review of this!

Brows: MAC Lingering - I decided to use up my last back up of MAC's Lingering and its reminded me  of how much I love it. Highly recommend.
Illamasqua Brow and Lash Gel - The best!

MAC Extended Play Lash Mascara - I really wanted to try this after reading Fleur's review this is an amazing mascara. It adds some serious length and definition to your lashes and doesn't smudge on me at all, its a new favourite.

Lips: Burberry Lip Cover in "English Rose" - This lipstick was in my 12 Makeup Favourites of 2012 and I always seem to dig it out again in the colder months. I don't do "nude lips" and this is the perfect everyday colour for me.

  1. I love this eyelook on you! It's very subtle, yet mysterious..if that makes sense haha

    1. That did make me chuckle, I know what you mean though. I think if you added eyeliner it would add more drama but maybe take away from the mystery ;)
