Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Stay-in-Place Makeup

Estee Lauder's Double Wear Light is without a doubt the best long wearing foundation I have tried. This stuff does not budge, my makeup looks the same as it did in the morning when I take it off at night.

I have used Estee Lauder's Original Double Wear before and liked it, although the original is just as long wearing but extremely high coverage. You know when a foundation smells a bit like paint? I much prefer Double Wear Light, as it still has all the long wearing benefits but is much lighter in coverage. Double Wear Light gives a medium coverage and while it does a great job at covering redness your skin still shows through, so its not mask like.

I would highly, highly recommend this if you are looking for a long lasting foundation or suffer from particularly oily skin and struggle to keep your makeup on all day. Also a really good base for those Christmas parties that are coming up!

In the picture below the only face makeup I'm wearing is this and if you're interested I have this in the shade "Intensity 2.0". Actually that's one negative point on this foundation, not a very good shade range but if you can find one that matches you then its a worthy investment.

Available from Boots for £28.50

Dior Airflash Spray Foundation - It's love

Its been 3 weeks and I think I'm ready to say the 'L' word.

I love this foundation

I have been enjoying Dior's Airflash CC Primer and that got me wanting to try their Airflash Foundation.

Like the CC Primer this comes in a spray can, which you shake up before using. There's something so satisfying about using a spray can, makes you feel like an artistic rebel!

Now unlike the Primer, I don't spray this directly on my face, the only reason being is that my hair is dark and I find it catches on my little baby hairs. That would be easily solved if unlike me, you could be bothered to wear a hairband or if you are fair haired, I don't think you will have a problem either.
I prefer to spray this on my hand and then apply like I normally would with a brush. That's just my favourite way to apply my foundation and I can then add more coverage where I need it. My favourite foundation brushes to use are the Real Techniques Buffing Brush and the Sigma Flat Top Kabuki

I love the coverage this gives, I was worried it was going to look really heavy on the skin but it doesn't. I would say its a good medium coverage foundation and you can definitely build it up to a heavy coverage if you wanted.

Its a semi-matte finish which makes it look quite natural on the skin and I can get away with not powdering this. The lasting power is also great and combined with the CC primer lasts all day.

In the pictures below apart from my eye makeup all I am wearing is the foundation, no concealer, powder, or bronzer, nothing else. Considering my skin is really not that great at the moment I think it looks pretty good!

Now as with all good things in life there's nearly always a downside and the downside for this little baby is the price, at £33.00 its definitely not cheap but if you like to spend a bit more on your foundation I really recommend giving this one a go.

For reference I have the shade 300 Medium Beige which is good for me at the moment as I have a bit of a tan, but next time I would get 200 Light Beige.

Shiseido Sun Protection Liquid Foundation - A Sweaty Commuters Life Saver

Every now and then I wish I had some form of fringe again. Fringe's hide a multitude of sins and if you get a bit sweaty you can wipe your brow safe in the knowledge your fringe has got your back. Without a fringe however don't even think to wipe your sweaty head, unless you want everyone to wonder why you are only wearing foundation up to your eyebrows.

That's where this bad boy comes along, Shiseido's Sun Protection Liquid Foundation SPF 30. The bottle states its "Very Water Resistant" and that I can vouch for. Now it wont stop you sweating, but this foundation will stay on your face and wont sweat or wipe off.

It also has an SPF of 30 which is going to give you a really good level of sun protection. I think the best thing about this foundation though is that its so light and thin in consistency. You might think a foundation that is water resistant would be really thick and cakey, but this is the complete opposite. Its very runny and you have to shake it up before you use it, the consistency is very similar to MAC's Face and Body Foundation. This offers a light to medium coverage and as its so light, it looks very natural on the skin.

It would be a great foundation to take on holiday due to the high SPF and budge proofness but I think its also really great if you are a commuter and have to get a packed sweaty train or tube in Summer. You don't want to get to work and realise half your make up has disappeared! I don't wear this foundation in the Winter months at all but as soon as we hit Summer I slap it on because I know I can rely on it.

For reference I wear this in the shade SP50 and in a MAC foundation I'm around a NW20/25 sometimes 30. This is definitely a high end foundation, it costs £28.00 but I would definitely say its worth the money, I purchased mine from Feel Unique.
