My Favourite Highlighters

Ah highlighters, one of the most beautiful makeup products when used correctly but also one of the most horrendous when applied badly. I am thinking of Reading 2011, listening to some beautiful music but getting distracted by the Violinists extreme inner corner highlight, genuinely looked like her eyes were sweating.

Highlighters are one of those makeup products where you get what you pay for. Pretty much all cheap highlighters are packed with glitter, which is a massive no no if you want a natural looking highlight.

These are a few of my favourite highlighters, with not a speck of glitter insight.

The one - Kevyn Aucoin The Celestial Powder in Candlelight

By far my favourite, the best highlighter I have ever found. It looks so natural you can't go wrong. I know the price is ridiculous but it will last you months and months.
Available from Cult Beauty £34.50

The best one for mixing with your foundation - NARS Copacabana Illuminator

Mix a blob of this in with your normal foundation and it will give your skin the most beautiful, natural looking glow which lasts all day.
Available from Space NK £22.50

My favourite cream highlighters - MAC Cream Colour Base in Hush and Improper Copper

Before I discovered Kevyn Aucoin, MAC's Cream Colour Bases were my favourite highlighters. These are a cream so they blend beautifully and come in an array of colours to suit all skin tones. Hush is a peachy colour, perfect for an everyday highlight and Improper Copper looks stunning on tanned skin, definitely a Summer must have for me.
Available from MAC £15.00

For the eyes - Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Beige

Bobbi Brown's Shimmer Brick's are designed to be multi use but sometimes they can be a bit OTT on the face but they make for beautiful eyeshadows and really brighten your eyes, especially when used in the inner corner.
Available from John Lewis £32.00

Left to Right: Kevyn Aucoin Candlelight, Nars Copacabana, MAC Hush, MAC Improper Copper, Bobbi Brown Beige
